Penguin Audio
Art Direction + Design by: Gabriella Shery

As Art Director and Designer at Penguin Random House Audio, I lead the design of audiobook originals and franchise titles across multiple imprints. Managing over 2,000 covers annually, I create visual systems that translate storytelling from sound to print.

Recent projects include Soundtrack by Jason Reynolds—originally designed for the audiobook release and expanding to trade and hardcover editions this spring—which was honored with an AudioFile Magazine Earphones Award.

I also direct ongoing large-print and ADA-accessible series design across imprints.

Audiobook Originals

Art Direction + Design by: Gabriella Shery

As Art Director and Designer, I lead creative development for Penguin Random House Audio’s original productions—building visual systems that translate the emotion of sound into striking, story-driven design. Each cover begins with tone and rhythm: color, texture, and typography echo the narrative’s cadence while maintaining brand cohesion across imprints.

Recent highlights include Soundtrack by Jason Reynolds, originally designed for the audiobook release and expanding to trade and hardcover editions this spring. This project reflects my approach to cross-format storytelling—creating design that evolves as the narrative reaches new audiences.

For ongoing franchises and branded collections, I develop adaptable design systems that unify multiple titles under a shared visual framework. This includes typographic architecture, color strategy, and image direction—ensuring continuity across releases while allowing each title room to stand apart.
